This French-style château was built in 1922 as a second home for Count Sadakoto Hisamatsu, a descendant of the feudal lord of the Matsuyama Domain. At that time, prominent figures from various fields gathered there, and members of the imperial family also visited. The building itself is considered a particularly fine architectural achievement. It’s designated an important national cultural property. It’s open for sightseeing, and it’s also a venue for various concerts, cultural events and exhibitions.
