Sightseeing Neighbouring prefectures

This city in the south of Okayama Prefecture is known for the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, streets of old homes and warehouses from the Edo, Meiji, Taishō and early Shōwa periods. Besides the old streets, there are many other points of interest including the former Ōhara residence, an important national cultural property, the Ōhara Museum of Art, Japan’s first western art museum, and the Kurashiki Archaeological Museum in a remodeled rice warehouse from the Edo period. Kojima is where Japanese-made jeans originated, and the district is lined with the shops of local manufacturers selling original, quality products.
