Index
This festival is a general term for festivals held at Kunitsuhiko-no-Mikoto-Jinja Shrine and Kashima-Jinja Shrine, which is located offshore.
This is one of the three largest wild portable shrines in Japan.
Various Shinto rituals such as “Mikoshi otoshi” and “Mikoshi Misogi” which are called violent mikoshi, the danger that is marching bravely, and “Kaineri odori” which is danced gracefully on the boat are held.
The mikoshi otoshi is dropped from the 39 stone steps many times until the object of worship appears. This event is not only fierce but divinely powerful.
