The Tsubaki Festival is held every year for three days in January or February (varies according to the year) at Tsubaki Shrine. About 800 stalls line the approach to the shrine, and around 500,000 people visit during the festival. The stalls sell lucky candy only available at the festival, and lucky rakes that symbolize raking in cash. These are purchased by shopkeepers and displayed on their premises.
