Bronze statues of brothers AKIYAMA Yoshifuru & Saneyuki
Index
The bronze statues of Yoshifuru Akiyama and his younger brother Saneyuki Akiyama, officers in the army and navy from Matsuyama City who were the main characters of the novel “Clouds above the Hill (Saka-no-Ue-no-Kumo)” and were active in the Russo-Japanese War, overlook the Seto Inland Sea side by side on Miharashi-yama Hill in the Baishinji district. Originally, the statue of Saneyuki was located a short distance away from the statue of Yoshifuru, but it was moved to its current location due to a landslide caused by heavy rain in July 2018.
